FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT LIMBAL RELAXING INCISIONS

MY DOCTOR WANTS TO DO AN ICL AND LIMBAL RELAXING INCISIONS AT THE SAME TIME. SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

No. Limbal relaxing incisions do not make the surgery less safe. By correcting your astigmatism, the incisions will give you a better result afterward.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE A REFRACTIVE LENS EXCHANGE PROCEDURE WITH LIMBAL RELAXING INCISIONS AND THERE IS STILL ASTIGMATISM PRESENT AFTER SURGERY?

This occasionally happens. There are two alternatives. The doctor can do an additional limbal relaxing incision procedure in the office to correct the remaining astigmatism. Alternatively, you can have LASIK or PRK enhancement. LASIK or PRK are particularly good if you also have some leftover nearsightedness or farsightedness.

WILL I FEEL THE LIMBAL RELAXING INCISIONS?

No. After three or four days, the incisions heal and you cannot feel them.

CAN ANYBODY SEE THESE INCISIONS?

No. They are invisible.
