I recently had my EVO ICL surgery with Dr. Shamie, and I genuinely couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From my first consultation to surgery day and follow-ups, Dr. Shamie and the entire team at the institute and surgical center were exceptional. They were patient, thorough, and made me feel completely at ease every step of the way. Everyone I encountered was incredibly kind and professional. Dr. Shamie took the time to explain everything so clearly and patiently, answering every question I had. I felt completely at ease leading up to the surgery, during pre-op, and post-op, all because of the level of care and reassurance from Dr. Shamie and the team. From a very young age, I relied on glasses due to a high prescription, later switching to contacts. The constant back and forth, the cost, the migraines, and the dry eyes became overwhelming. I reached a point where I simply couldn't continue that way. ICL truly changed my life in a way that's hard to put into words. Immediately after surgery, I could already see better than I ever could without my glasses—and by day two, I had 20/20 vision. I always knew my own face with glasses on, and contacts always felt like an extra layer. For the first time in my life, I can see myself for what I am, bare, with no glasses or contacts, just me. This has been so refreshing. Dr. Shamie gave me a new sense of clarity that I will forever be grateful for. Thank you a million times! Dr. Shamie and everyone at this office are just fantastic. I felt so comfortable and heard from my first appointment, and Dr. Shamie even got to the bottom of an eye issue I'd been facing that many other doctors weren't able to identify. I came to her for ICL and we eased into it to make sure all my other eye issues were addressed, and her thoughtfulness during that process made me feel so safe going into the ICL procedure. Dr. Shamie takes the time to explain everything and answer any questions you have, and her warmth and genuine care made me feel like I could put full trust in her expertise. Can't recommend this office and Dr. Shamie enough!

I don't even know how to properly thank Dr. Neda Shamie. This surgery truly changed my life. I had -8 vision for over 20 years. By the time I turned 50, I couldn't wear contacts anymore, and my glasses were so strong they gave me headaches. Everyday life and work had become very difficult. To be honest, the idea of putting a lens inside my eye was scary. But from the very first consultation, I knew I could trust her. What impressed me the most was how thorough and fast everything was. She took the time to answer every single concern I had — and responded quickly. Also, something no other doctor ever told me: she immediately identified that I had eyelash mites causing my dry eye issues. Instead of rushing into surgery, she treated that first for 6 weeks before proceeding. That level of care and accuracy gave me so much confidence. The entire experience — from consultation to surgery to follow-up — was excellent. Her staff is kind, professional, and very responsive. Of course, I was nervous on the day of surgery, but I felt completely safe in her hands. And after the procedure, my vision improved day by day. Now, just 3 weeks later, my vision is incredibly clear (20/10), and that uncomfortable feeling in my eyes is almost completely gone. I can honestly say — the world looks beautiful in a way I've never experienced before. If you are struggling with your vision and considering ICL, I truly, truly recommend Dr. Neda Shamie and her team.

EVO ICL was one of the best decisions I've ever made! And I couldn't have asked for a better experience than with Dr. Hura and the entire team. As someone with a -8.00 prescription, LASIK was unfortunately never a viable option for me. When my eye doctor introduced me to EVO ICL, I was excited to explore it further. I'm about a month out from my EVO ICL procedure, and I truly couldn't be happier with my experience. I originally came in for a LASIK consultation, and from that very first appointment, Dr. Shamie and her team were incredible. Thoughtful, thorough, and extremely patient. After a thorough conversation and testing I elected to do the Evo ICL option. We were able to schedule a convenient time for me right away. If I could give 10 stars, I would. From the first communication to the post-operative care, it's been amazing. Had my EVO ICL two weeks ago and am beyond glad I did it. I considered doctors in my home state and nationwide before landing on Dr. Shamie. There is no one better. Everyone was fantastic -- Dr. Shamie, Dr. Barnes, Dr. Woo, Dr. Park, Seth, Luis, Sandy, Brenda, the front desk team! All were perfect. Normally you go to a practice for the Doctor only, while amazing, it's all the staff too here that made the difference. You can tell Dr. Shamie cares about the patient experience in all aspects. I have recommended her to everyone. Worth the travel and the wait to find the best doctor!

Very happy with how my ICL surgery turned out with Dr Hura. Wonderful bedside manner before, during and post surgery! Can now see beyond 20/20 - which feels like a dream considering I've been wearing glasses and contacts for over 30 years. My eyes are still adjusting and healing, but all as expected. Wish I didn't wait so long to get it done!

Dr. Shamie performed my EVO ICL procedure about 3 weeks ago, and it was without a doubt the most positive medical experience I've ever had. From the first consultation, all staff and medical professionals were welcoming, clear, knowledgeable, and so supportive. I was able to meet directly with Dr. Shamie at my initial appointment, and she spent significant time with me to talk about my options, potential considerations, and answering my questions. I had not even heard of EVO ICL before my first appointment, but felt completely comfortable with moving forward with Dr. Shamie's recommendation based on her informed and clear explanation of the procedure and its pros and cons (which were highly specific to my personal experience). The lead up to the procedure was also seamless, and again, every single professional at all parts of the process was amazing. It's clear that Dr. Shamie hires, retains and uplifts the best people in this specialty. My actual procedure went flawlessly, and I felt totally confident at all times. My recovery was extremely simple, and I was already seeing at 20/20 and 20/15 on the day after my procedure. I had excellent post-procedure care. I first needed glasses in Kindergarten and began using contacts in middle school. All my life, my poor vision has been, at best, a daily chore to manage, and at worst, a significant impediment. This procedure has been truly life changing, and I can say for sure that my experience with Dr. Shamie is a major reason why this has been so positive for me. I would refer her to anyone looking to explore their vision correction options and can't speak highly enough of her.

Having ICL surgery has been the most liberating experience in my life. Dr. Hura is an excellent surgeon. I had my very very high myopia corrected to 20/15 vision. I went into the consultation for Lasik or PRK but Dr. Hura explained that the best way forward (longevity of improved vision, minimal risks given the topology & thickness of my eyes) was ICL. He gave me a very detailed explanation of all of the procedures and why ICL was the best choice based on my high myopia & the condition of my eyes. I didn't know about ICL before the consultation. The surgeons at the Mahony clinic wrote a great book about various vision correction procedures. I left the consultation with a copy & I felt very well informed about my options. He even answered some questions I had after the consultation & before the procedure. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Hura explained the process ahead of me & what exactly he was going to do. The surgical experience was surreal. His prep/ operating room/ post bedside manner was very kind & appreciated. I could see during the surgery as he set the implants. It was only the dilated eyes hampering my focus for the first 48 hours. I could return to remote work after the dilation wore off and I could resume normal/active activities a week post op. My surfings never been better with the extra confidence & clarity in the water. There was no extra mental adjustment for driving/catching waves. The staff at the MSH Institute are also top notch & helped me navigate the needful documentation, scheduling & communication related to the procedure prep, procedure & after care/check ups. They're aces. Can't recommend ICL, this place & Dr. Hura enough.

I'm incredibly thankful for the amazing staff and doctors at the Maloney-Shamie-Hura Vision Institute. I went in for a consultation with Dr. Shamie on June 2nd and was thrilled to find out that I qualified for EVO ICL. This was the best news I could've hoped for, especially knowing there was finally a solution for someone with -15+ vision like mine. From that moment on, the entire team was incredibly thorough and supportive. They ensured I was fully cleared by a retina specialist before moving forward with the procedure. Everything went smoothly, and I truly felt I was in the best hands. On the day of surgery, I was extremely nervous and worried about the pain but to my surprise, the procedure was painless. Even better, I could see immediately at my follow-up appointment. I was told I might achieve 20/30 vision at best, but to my amazement, I'm already seeing 20/25, and I'm only one week post-surgery. I'm forever grateful to Dr. Shamie for doing such an incredible job. The quality of my life has improved tremendously. No more thick glasses, no more contacts AND I see better than ever, and my eyes feel the best they've ever felt. In just one month, my life has completely changed for the better. Maloney-Shamie-Hura was recommended by my optometrist for vision correction. He said he trusted them because they turn people away if they don't think you'll get good results - which is exactly what everyone should be looking for when considering a surgery like this! I went for a consult with Dr. Maloney in January of this year, and with my prescription being as high as it is, I was recommended EVO ICL surgery with Dr. Hura versus one of the laser solutions. I didn't know anything about the EVO ICL option before it was recommended, but went home, did some research, and Dr. Hura took the time to have an additional consult with me to answer all my questions. Going into the surgery in April, I felt well informed and I wasn't at all nervous. The surgery was quick, easy, and painless, and my vision was 20/20 in one eye, and 20/15 in the other 3 hours after surgery. Surgery was on a Friday and I was back at work on Monday with no issues. By my 1 week check-in I was 20/13 in both eyes. A few weeks after surgery I had some minor concern with one eye, and the office was quick to respond to my query about it, had me come in immediately, and did a full and thorough evaluation to make sure everything was ok. Dr. Hura and team are highly skilled, caring, and responsive, and I'm very happy with the results. Would recommend to anyone considering vision correction!

I have always had terrible vision and truly could not see a thing without contacts or glasses. Dr Hura was so patient, thorough and professional. Couldn't have been nicer, more professional, or more excellent at their medical practice. Dr Hura performed an ICL on both of my eyes and it's one of the best decisions I ever made; absolutely life-altering in the most beneficial and rewarding way.

My son and I made appointments at Maloney Shamie for LASIK. To our surprise neither one of us were candidates, however, two separate procedures were presented to us. Due to having Radial Keratonmy in the past, I was offered the Refractive Lens Exchange (removing my natural lens and inserting artificial lenses) and my son had the ICL (implant contact lens). We scheduled both of our surgeries on the same day in May 2024. The procedure with Dr. Hura was very easy and fast. He made us feel very comfortable with no pain and discomfort at all. After the procedure and later in the day our vision was a little blurry with halos, that quickly went away. Dr. Hura followed up with text messages on our recovery, which was reassuring and helpful answering our questions. My procedure RLE requires 6 follow up appointments with 2 week intervals, adjusting my vision with light. Both my son and I are extremely happy with our vison and the results. We are very impressed with the doctors and office staff who are always very helpful and accommodating. I would strongly recommend a consultation for your eye sight needs with many different options.
