Dr. Hura was wonderful. He is easy to understand when explaining complicated medical conditions, he took his time to answer my questions. The office has a great staff that was always attentive to my needs. I was able to get in immediately for surgery. The surgery center they work with was a well-oiled machine, and they knew exactly what they were doing to get me in and out safely. Dr. Hura must have done a perfect job with my eyes for an ICL/cataract removal procedure because my vision is great now! I have been to a few eye doctors since for check-ups and they all agree that Dr. Hura did a fantastic job. I just wish more insurance paid for eye conditions before they become extreme, so more people could have access to better vision services that this office provides.

I am 62 years old. About a month ago I received Refractive Lens Exchange surgery (RLE) from Dr. Shamie. I was not nervous or anxious in the least especially after reading about her credentials. They are VERY IMPRESSIVE! After wearing glasses for 56 years my last prescription was R +6.75 and L +7.25 so I was no longer a candidate for contact lenses and haven't been for quite some time. Now after having this pain free surgery, I NO LONGER WEAR GLASSES! I can now see crystal clear - even the tiniest print. I can't even begin to tell you how life changing this has been for me to navigate through life and not being tied to the ugly, heavy and thick glasses I used to wear just a month ago. I am receiving excellent post op care from my optometrist of 20 years and he says I am doing phenomenal and he is very impressed with Dr. Shamie's skill level. She is like no other. My only regret is not getting the surgery done sooner. If ANYONE is nervous or anxious about getting the surgery done, DONT BE there is nothing to worry about and everything to gain. I worked with Dr. Hura and had lens replacement. 7 years ago I started struggling with reading small type. Over the years it got progressively worse. I started becoming dependent on readers and had to use them all of the time to read anything. Last month I had the procedure and my short, medium and long range vision is good. The best part is no more glasses! All interactions with the doctors and staff were professional and amazing. They kept me informed of every step in the process and made sure I was comfortable.

Dr. Shamie was very patient and answered all of my questions and concerns. I was extremely nervous and she really calmed me down and reassured me the morning of my surgery. The procedure was life changing for me. I've never seen better! The nurses and staff at the surgery center were also amazing and very patient. From my first visit to my post op care, I would rate a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5.

My son and I made appointments at Maloney Shamie for LASIK. To our surprise neither one of us were candidates, however, two separate procedures were presented to us. Due to having Radial Keratonmy in the past, I was offered the Refractive Lens Exchange (removing my natural lens and inserting artificial lenses) and my son had the ICL (implant contact lens). We scheduled both of our surgeries on the same day in May 2024. The procedure with Dr. Hura was very easy and fast. He made us feel very comfortable with no pain and discomfort at all. After the procedure and later in the day our vision was a little blurry with halos, that quickly went away. Dr. Hura followed up with text messages on our recovery, which was reassuring and helpful answering our questions. My procedure RLE requires 6 follow up appointments with 2 week intervals, adjusting my vision with light. Both my son and I are extremely happy with our vison and the results. We are very impressed with the doctors and office staff who are always very helpful and accommodating. I would strongly recommend a consultation for your eye sight needs with many different options.

My experience with Dr Shamie was wonderful. She is very professional and at the same time very kindhearted. Her office has the latest and greatest technology and equipment to test every aspect of your eye health. Both she and her staff make you feel comfortable and confident in her skill as a surgeon. As a senior citizen, I did not yet have fully developed cataracts but wanted to explore the possibility of improving my vision. I was able to have lens replace surgery and now have 20/20 vision which gives me freedom from wearing glasses. I would highly recommend Dr Shamie.

Well let me start with DR. SHAMIE. She is absolutely a beautiful and an amazing woman. I am an extremely nervous person so, she took her time to explain everything in detail and made me feel absolutely safe in her hands. Now her staff… Wow amazing as well. Everyone was very friendly and patient with me and also made me feel absolutely comfortable…Both offices are also super clean…I would highly recommend Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute for eye surgery… surgery done was Multifocal RLE, first eye 4/11/24, second eye 4/18/24… painless and only a few hours of down time… no insurance covers this type of surgery, however they have a reasonable payment plan to anyone who needs it… I hope this helps anyone thinking about eye surgery who is tired of wearing prescription glasses 24/7… DR. SHAMIE, I love you and all your staff… Thank you everyone…

I love the results from my refractive lens exchange. During my initial consultations, Dr. Shamie listened to my concerns carefully and was thoughtful and specific in her recommendations. After a thorough review of my situation, she was confident I would be able to get rid of my glasses, and she was correct! The facilities and entire staff are first-class, and the out-patient procedures were professional and pain-free. With my new multifocus lenses, I haven't worn glasses since the surgery.
