The procedure went very well and improved the reading acuity in the eye. The staff were very attentive and organized.

Very professional yet very personal attention. I never felt rushed and my questions were answered. The staff was friendly. I loved when I heard Dr Shamie said in an online video that she treats each patient as if we were family, I felt that especially when at the surgical center. She explained and gave comfort to put me at ease.

I strongly recommend Dr. Hura for cataract surgery. I have macular degeneration in both eyes and my cataracts were making my vision so bad I feared I was going blind. Dr. Hura recently performed cataract surgeries on both my eyes, and the surgeries were so successful that after wearing glasses and contact lenses for 70 years, I no longer require any correction at all for distance. I still require reading glasses, but that is only because the lens options available to me were limited by my macular degeneration. I am thrilled with the results of my surgeries and I will recommend Dr. Hura any chance I get.

Expert care. Office works like a well-designed, honed, and well oiled machine. Office personnel, medical technicians and staff are courteous, knowledgeable, and effective at performing their jobs. Went from 20/150 - 20/350 to 20/20-20/20 in 10 minutes. No complaints.

Dr. Hura and the staff at Malone-Shamir Vision Institute were professional and caring. My mom required special care and attention because she is 89 and has dementia. Dr. Hura performed cataract surgery on both eyes and repaired my mom’s damaged eyes. She walked gingerly because she couldn’t see and had trouble seeing food on her plate. Within a week my mom could see much better and her eyes looked clearer and healthier. The staff also were incredibly warm and helpful. I highly recommend to anyone who needs cataract surgery!!!

I had cataract surgery and it could not have gone any better. Not only did they take care of the cataracts I also had lens replacement and no longer need glasses or contacts. My vision before the surgery was -550. Now I am 20/20 and 20/15.

Dr. Shamie performed the cataract surgery on my left eye a little over two weeks ago. The experience was relaxed and extremely efficient. And the results are wonderful. A great experience from beginning to end. Everything was explained thoroughly, and there was no pressure or effort to up-sale procedures or products. Dr. Shamie and her team were great! Having your eyes operated on is always freightening and risky, but the team mitigated those risks and put me at ease. My eye is recovering great with perfectly restored vision.

I had the cataracts in both of my eyes replaced by Dr. Shamie and she was an absolute delight. She was very thorough and attentive to my needs and concerns and answered all of my questions. Dr. Shamie performed laser cataract surgery on both of my eyes about one month apart, as well as two, concurrent, glaucoma procedures in each. I had cataract surgery with Dr. Shamie and I could not be more pleased with the results. The choice of lens turned out to be better than I imagined. I can read my phone, computer, TV and further without glasses. I occasionally use +2 "cheaters" if print is very small or in dim light. For all practical purposes, I no longer need to wear glasses every day. The operation was quick, painless and gave me instant results.

My experience with Dr. Neda Shamie at the Maloney-Shamie-Hura Vision Institute was nothing short of excellence. Her professional staff was impressive but not as impressive as she herself is and her dedication to her patience. She is a superlative physician and surgeon as well as the most charming and thoughtful of individuals. Aside from having a complete package detailing everything a prospective patient would want or need to know handed to them upon leaving her office after the first consult and exam, her staff prepares you in detail for the surgical procedure you will undergo and everything you need to do and know in writing. The surgical staff - all women - and all impressive, efficient, thoughtful and helpful, prepared me for the surgery. Unlike many male doctors, she stopped by to say hello and to assure me prior to the anesthesia being administered. They made sure I had someone pick me up after the procedure and gave me written instructions in a packet along with eyedrops I was to use for 4 weeks. Most impressive of all however was that Dr. Shame sent me a text divulging her cellphone number in case I had a problem and included a link to a video of instructions that I could watch at my leisure - and not lose, since it was on my iPhone. And I could review it when I had a question or issue. Moreover, a few weeks after the surgery she actually sent me a thank you letter!!! What surgeon ever explains anything on a video for the patient and then sends a thank you letter? In my 80 years, I've never encountered such an exceptional medical professional who is as thoughtful and respectful of her patients as Dr. Shamie. I will soon be scheduling my second cataract surgery with her.

Dr. Shamie and Dr. Barnes were incredible. Having light adjustable lenses with my cataract surgery restored my eye sight back to 20/20, where it was after I had Lasik surgery in 2007.

Attentive and informative staff, answered any questions I had, even when I probably was repeating myself. Procedure for me was very comfortable and of course the most important, I can see with a better clarity, both colors and vision.

I was disappointed by lack of interest in long term follow-up. the

First class, state of the art. I am so impressed with the entire practice and especially Dr Shamie. She recommended a new, light adjustable lens for my cataract surgery, since I had lasix in the past. The staff is friendly, expert and attentive. This is the only office for your eye needs. I had LASIK eye surgery 25 years ago and it was fantastic…life changing. Recently I need cataract surgery and it was also easy and my eyesight is wonderful. Never trust anyone else with your eyes.

Totally impressed by Dr. Shamie and the entire practice. After a bad experience with another surgeon elsewhere on my first eye, I went to see Dr Shamie, and so thankful I found her! She suggested we use a new, light adjustable lens for my cataract surgery. If you have had lasix in the past this is definitely an option you should consider. At only 53 years old, I, unfortunately had to have surgery to remove cataracts in each eye. Fortunately, I found Dr Shamie to do my surgery. It went extremely well, and she and her staff were superb. I ended up doing a monovision technique, so I occasionally need reading glasses for small print or in poorly lit areas, but my distance vision is fantastic, and I'm no longer dependent on glasses to do things like drive safely.

"Dr Neda Shamie performed a cornea transplant and cataract replacement. In my left eye a year and a half ago. The initial results were fabulous.  Dr Shamie was my hero. It's a long healing process, with removal of stitches, a few at a time.  After the first two removals, the vision wasn't as great, and then I had an episode of rejecting the transplant!  Dr. Shamie got me through the rejection, and then the next removal of stitches dramatically improved my vision in hours, and it has stayed amazingly good, 20/25!  Dr. Shamie is a miracle worker.  She's still my hero!"

"Dr. Neda Shamie of the Maloney Shamie Vision Institute is without question the best. This easily tossed around phrase is meant for doctors like Neda Shamie.  I have Keratoconus in both eyes and unable to wear glasses and have worn contacts since I was 12 years old.  Dr. Shamie took my very complicated eye case several years ago and her primary goal was to get me the "best vision possible".  I required a corneal transplant in my left eye and a year and a half of very careful, patient after care. I then had cataract surgery and Dr. Shamie inserted a toric lens in my eye and I now no longer wear contacts and have 20-30 vision, with the possibility of improvement over the coming weeks!  She will perform cataract surgery on my right eye soon and I will not have to wear contacts at all.  For someone like me who's worn contacts almost my whole like, this is miraculous.  Dr. Shamie and everyone at the Maloney Shamie Vision Institute were nothing short of wonderful.  I cannot recommend her highly enough. "My cataract surgery was done in 2009 over the course of 7 months simply because I could not make up my mind whether I wanted both eyes the same or one long and one short. I ended up going with the long and short decision, and I also decided to pay the extra for the higher grade lenses with the wider range. The results were far better than I expected. I no longer need glasses for anything, not even reading. My eyes now can adjust through the ranges of vision smoothly so that I see perfectly while doing projects or repairs around the house or working with my computer or cell phone. My long range vision is the best it has ever been. I have great night vision and I no longer have the flaring halo around lights at night. The operation itself was a very easy and took very little time. The amount of medication for the procedure was perfect. I felt no pain or anxiety during the entire time. The staff was very friendly and professional. I was totally satisfied with this experience. The healing was easier and quicker then when I had the LASIK procedure years ago. I had very little to no pain to speak of. I did take a while to get used to both eyes working together, but once they synchronized, I was amazed at how well I was able to see. I highly recommend paying the extra for the high grade lenses, even though they were not covered by my insurance and were out of pocket for me, they were well worth the additional cost. My vision is excellent, and the care and attention given at Maloney Vision were superior."

"Dear Dr. Maloney and Staff, My father was the inspiration for us seeking the BEST Physician who we could trust with one of greatest gifts God has given us — our eyes. Unfortunately, my father was on an HMO Health Plan and his request to see an eye specialist was delayed and caused him his eye sight in one eye. "The cataract procedure I had a couple of years ago was the easiest medical procedure I have had done. The recovery time was basically zero. As soon as I came out of the surgery center, I could read the street signs which were blurry before. I had no pain or discomfort either during the procedure or afterwards. The first night I had to wear the protective plastic cover over my eye which was no big deal. Eye drops afterwards were easy to handle. I trust Dr. Maloney with my eyes since he did a lasik procedure on both of my eyes over 10 years ago which was a success. When it is time to do my second eye, I will definitely have Dr. Maloney do the procedure."

"I had a prism situation – left eye; and, short vision in my right. I was having quadruple vision of tail lights at night, and, even with glasses, I did not feel comfortable driving. Dr. Maloney gave me Mono-vision without glasses. I'm now seeing 20/15 for distance and can read the smallest print on the hand eye chart, so I do not need reading glasses. It doesn't get any better. "After having both eyes done, a whole new world appeared. I now have perfect distance vision without glasses and just use reading glasses. I had pretty much stopped reading for entertainment but it's a delight once again. As to the surgery and "recovery"—it's as if it never happened. No pain of any kind. Awake from surgery and read the signs across the room. When I arrived at home I put on reading glasses and read the box scores in the paper!!!
