I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hura. From start to finish, he went way above and beyond. I needed my cataract surgery done before an upcoming trip, and he went out of his way to accommodate my schedule and make it happen. That alone meant so much to me. What really sets him apart, though, is how genuinely kind and communicative he is. I was pretty nervous, and Dr. Hura personally called me the day before the procedure and again after to check in, explain everything, and make sure I was okay. That level of care is rare and made a huge difference for me. He is incredibly patient, compassionate, and clearly best-in-class at what he does. I felt completely taken care of every step of the way and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. If you’re looking for an eye surgeon you can truly trust, I would recommend Dr. Hura to anyone without hesitation.

Dr Shamie is awesome! She is so dedicated and her personal follow-up to check on you after the surgery is impressive. I had cataract surgery with the multi focal lens replacement and the results are amazing. I can’t believe that I not only see distance, but can read fine print without reading glasses. Wow what a great experience I had with Dr Shamie. I came in for the initial consultation and she gave me my several options to fix my vision. After a thorough conversation and testing I elected to do the Evo ICL option. We were able to schedule a convenient time for me right away. The surgery went amazing and the next day I had 20/15 vision. Thank you soooo much for changing my life for the better.

Initially I was nervous about LASIK, because I only have one set of eyes and I didn't know how risky it was. But I'd wondered about it for a long time, so I asked ChatGPT where famous people go to do their LASIK. I figured if a person can afford to go anywhere, where would they go?

I had LASIK done by Dr. Shamie and I cannot stress enough how amazing her, and everyone's care was at Maloney-Shamie-Hura Vision Institute. I was an ideal candidate for LASIK and unfortunately during the procedure it became apparent to Dr. Shamie that I had a somewhat rare condition called EBMD. There was no testing anyone could have done to know this in advance, but it meant that my recovery was going to take much longer.

Through it all the team at MSHVI was unbelievably kind and attentive. They were extremely accommodating with extra appointments to address any concerns I had, and despite it all, I still ended up with 20/15 vision in each eye!

I have said this before and I'll say it again — even if I had known about EBMD beforehand, I still would have gone through with the procedure as long as I knew Dr. Shamie and her team were the ones caring for me. This is the only facility in Los Angeles I ever tell people to go to.

I cannot state how patient, professional, and calming Dr. Shamie is. I did a LASIK procedure with her, and as someone with a phobia for anything touching my eyes, Dr. Shamie was extremely patient and cooperative with me while doing the procedure. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone looking to do LASIK.

Phenomenal. Dr. Hura really took care to ensure I wasn't a LASIK horror story. He checked my eyes and let me know I wouldn't be able to have the procedure right away due to dry eyes. Over the next three months he sent me home twice due to dry eyes — but also provided special eye drops and a treatment plan each time. The day he cleared me, surgery was perfect and my vision is now better than it ever was with glasses or contacts.

It's been 1 year and 3 weeks since I had LASIK by Dr. Hura and my vision is PERFECT. I moved to Europe shortly after the 3-month mark and had my eyes examined again — the optometrist had nothing but great things to say. My vision remains exactly as it was post-surgery.
